We started the Girls side of the Club Back in Feb'05 with less than 5 players. Since then the Girls side of the Club has grown. In season '05 we managed to field a squad of 12 players in the Kent Girls & Ladies Football League (K.G.L.F.L) at U10 level. The next season we had Two squads one at U10's & U11's. Currently we have U10's,U11's,U12's & U15's competing in the KGLFL.
This expansion coupled with the Club attaining 'Charter Development Status' proves that Walderslade F.C. should be the Club of choice for your daughter to experience, enjoy & progress her Football.
ALL of our Managers, Coaches, First-aiders and Admin staff have undergone and successfully passed the Football Associations - Criminal Records Bureau (C.R.B.) checks, every team has at least one and in most cases two or three qualified First-Aiders. Although at this moment in time not every Team has an F.A. Qualified Coach, we are in the process of obtaining the Football Association's 'Charter Status', and Managers who are not currently qualified will be taking courses in the very near future.
You can see that we take the welfare and training of your daughter very seriously, but that doesn't mean to say the Girls don't have immense Fun at training, matches and social events. With the 'Club' starting and successfully implementing seven NEW teams For Both Boys & Girls this Season, and a further TWO Girls and a 'Mixed Academy already underway for NEXT Season; "we are the Fastest Growing Club in Medway". Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
