Walderslade First Team (Sunday) are mourning the loss of popular midfielder Dave Winslow who tragically lost his life this week. Dave collided with a wall at Black Lion Sports Centre whilst playing 5 aside with members of our Saturday and Sunday sides and hit his head. Despite the stirling efforts of leisure centre staff and paramedics Dave could not be revived and passed away at the scene.
Both adult games this weekend have been postponed as his teammates come to terms with this tragedy and as a mark of repect. A short memorial was held at our Barnfields pitch on Wednesday evening where verses were read and flowers taped to the goalpost at the site of Dave's last appearance for the Club.
All Walderslade youth games this weekend will be observing a minutes silence.
